Hackintosh
This build will be the Hackintosh
Intuition
Ever since I was a freshman, I've been using my laptop as PC. It's been 5 years and my laptop is still holding up. However, I've switched more and more to using Mac other than using Solidworks and Gaming. My 5 years old laptop is really bad at gaming, nor as easy as MacOS for programming. Therefore, I have decided to build a PC that check my buck list.
Requirements:
Runs both MacOS and windows
Dedecated graphics card
Extra PCI-e slots after pluging in the graphic card
Volumn should be as small as possible
Watercooled for quietness
Low light/ no LED (yes, I actually hate LED as I will be using my PC in my bedroom and any light will disrupt the qulity of my rest)
9th Gen Intel CPU
RTX graphics card
Design decisions:
Case:
Cerberus is one of the crowd funded community PC cases. Because of my requirement of more than one PCI-e slot, I will have to use micro-ATX instead of mini-ITX. Cerberus is the smallest case I can find that supports micro-ATX motherboard. The chassie is build from single sheet of steel being bended and riveted into frame. All side panels can be removed without any tools.
ncase M1 (not selected)
I want the case be as compact as possible. I'm moving around a lot and I'd like the ability to carry it around if needed. The first case I've looked at is ncase M1. It is very popular, has a lot of community supports, holds full size graphics card and even have space for watercooling radiator. However, this case checked all my requirements other except "extra PCI-e slot". I now in the future I will be running wireless VR and additional PCI-e slot is mondatory. I love this case, but have to move on for other options.
